RE-ELECT ANDREW THELANDER

Hello, my name is Andrew Thelander! I am asking for your vote to continue serving on the Stillwater Area Public Schools ISD 834 School Board.

I am running for re-election because I believe public education remains an essential institution worth supporting. I care deeply about service, value a well-rounded educational experience, and have a vested interest in the success of our district as a parent, spouse, and taxpayer. The most important role of a school board director is to exercise responsible governance that strengthens district stability and advances its strategic priorities that place students at the center of every decision.

I am proud of the district’s financial stewardship over the past four years. Even with increasing challenges facing public schools, I believe we share a responsibility to invest in our students’ long-term success.

We must continue supporting excellence in teaching and learning initiatives. This includes expanding course offerings, extracurricular activities, integrated support services, vocational pathways, and other district programs that enable students to discover their strengths and pursue their goals. We must also support the district’s continued growth and diversity to ensure all Ponies in ISD 834 have access to safe, effective, and equitable learning environments.

As the first school district in Minnesota, we should celebrate the history and heritage of Stillwater Area Schools while preparing students to thrive in a changing world through collaboration and relevant, inclusive, and action-oriented education.
